EXPERIENCES WITH CHILDREN
A boat trip to the Zinzulusa Cave
The Zinzulusa Cave is one of the 10 most important caves in the world. We’re in Castro (Le), a beautiful seaside village on the Adriatic coast. The name derives from the dialect term “zinzuli” and refers to how the numerous stalactites and stalagmites resemble the shreds of a tattered dress.
The Zinzulusa can be visited every day by a boat departing from the small port of Castro Marina. The trip also allows you to explore other beautiful caves on the coast, including Romanelli, Palombara and the Grotta Azzurra, and delicious seafood aperitifs, friselline and samples of local flavours can be enjoyed on board. Nearby, a visit to the spa town of Santa Cesarea Terme is also worthwhile.
The water park, just 15 minutes from Tuglie
One of the children’s favourite places. The Splash water park in Gallipoli is just a few kilometres from La Collina di Montegrappa and guarantees a day of pure fun for the whole family, even the little ones.
It covers an area of 78,000 square metres and offers attractions for all tastes and ages, from the very smallest, with 50 cm-deep pools and mini waterslides, to the beach area with umbrellas and sun loungers for the grown-ups.
The Botanical Garden and the Old Farm
Located in Giuggianello just 29 km from Tuglie, in an old 19th century-style country estate with a botanical garden full of wonders and rare species. As many as 35 hectares of succulent and tropical plants and a guided tour of biodiversity, a wonderful story to share with the children, who are always delighted to visit.
Worth seeing are the natural pond with papyrus and water lilies, the rock garden, the rose garden, the holm oak wood, the perfume garden and the old farm in the secret garden. There’s also a restaurant on site, where you can linger to taste the flavours of the ‘La Cutura’ farmhouse.
