THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES IN SALENTO

The beaches of Gallipoli, 10 minutes from Tuglie

The nearest beaches to La Collina di Montegrappa are those of Gallipoli: just 10 minutes by car to find long stretches of golden sand and a crystal-clear sea, repeatedly awarded for the quality of its waters. Baia Verde, Rivabella and Padula Bianca are long, soft beaches with crystal-clear sea, where equipped lidos alternate with free beaches. A paradise for those on holiday in Salento with children and the family, where there’s no shortage of services, bars, restaurants and kiosks for every need. Padula Bianca is also surrounded by a cool pine forest, ideal for a nice lunch on the beach and a siesta out of the sun.

Torre San Giovanni - beautiful sea, pine forests and relaxation

We’re still on the Ionian coast of Salento, which is generally low and sandy and, for this reason, the first choice for families with children, who can play safely thanks to shallow waters and soft beaches. Among these, 25 km from La Collina di Montegrappa is the beautiful sea of Torre San Giovanni (a hamlet in the municipality of Ugento). The sand here is very fine and the shoreline is very wide: children can play freely and adults can relax in the sun. There are plenty of options for lunch or dinner by the sea: the beaches and the village of Torre San Giovanni are full of trattorias and panoramic restaurants where you can taste the typical flavours of Salento.

Pescoluse - the Maldives of Salento

Just a 40-minute drive from Tuglie is Pescoluse (a hamlet in the municipality of Salve), a sandy stretch which has been awarded the Green Flag by the Italian Paediatricians’ Association as a ‘child-friendly beach’. Aspects of both a morphological nature (fine sandy beach, shallow and clear waters, presence of dedicated facilities for children, lifeguard service) and an environmental nature (cleanliness of the shoreline, high-quality bathing water) were what won it the award.
